It isn’t professional travel, legal, immigration, medical, insurance, or financial advice, and it shouldn’t be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or from an official source.

Travel details change

Travel information goes out of date quickly. Prices, timetables, routes, opening hours, luggage rules, visa and entry requirements, border procedures, health requirements, availability, and local conditions all change — sometimes at short notice, and sometimes while we’re still writing about them.

Please verify current details yourself before you book or travel. Check with the airline, rail operator, accommodation provider, tour operator, insurer, embassy, consulate, or relevant government authority. Their information is authoritative; ours is a starting point.

No guarantee of outcomes

We do our best to be accurate and useful, but we can’t guarantee that everything on the site is complete, current, or correct, and we can’t guarantee that following our suggestions will produce any particular result. Your travel decisions are your own, and you’re responsible for them — including bookings, budgets, packing choices, insurance, documentation, and anything that happens along the way.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, cost, or inconvenience arising from your use of this site or from your reliance on information published here.

We link to third-party websites and services because we think they’re helpful. We don’t control them and we’re not responsible for their content, their availability, their pricing, their terms, or their privacy practices. A link isn’t an endorsement of everything on the other side of it.

We don’t currently use affiliate links, and we don’t currently publish sponsored or paid content.

If that changes in the future, we’ll say so clearly. Where we earn a commission or receive any form of compensation, we will disclose it on the relevant page or post, at no additional cost to you. Any commission we might earn will never change our honest opinion of a place, product, or service — if we wouldn’t recommend it to a friend, we won’t recommend it here.

Our content

Unless otherwise stated, the original content we create for this site belongs to us. That includes our original written guides, itineraries, route descriptions, photographs we own, and other original OHDA-created content.

Some material on the site belongs to other people — for example, third-party photographs, logos, brand names, quoted material, and content provided under licence. That material remains the property of its respective owners and is used with permission or as permitted by law.

How you may use it

You’re very welcome to read, print, and save our content for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning. Please feel free to share a link to any of our pages.

Please don’t copy or republish our written content or photographs elsewhere, use our content commercially, sell it, use it to train machine-learning models, or present it as your own, without asking us first. If you’d like to quote a short passage, a brief excerpt with clear credit and a link back to the original page is fine, and if you’d like to do more than that, just email us — we’re usually happy to talk.
